I have to wonder if the author, Gertrude Stein had any influence on the design of this book. It is beautiful even by today's standards. According to the post on the Soulellis Studio site where this originated, it is a 1st edition of 2000 copies, and most were evidently destroyed. Note Thorton Wilder wrote the Introduction.
